I made this video for friends who adopted their daughter from China. They were accompanied other couples. The adopted children and their families reunite several times a year.

My name is Peter Conn. My wife is Gail and our son,8 1/2 years old, is named Miles. The 3 of us traveled to China this summer of 2009. These are some videos taken with my new iPhone 3GS. The mission was to go and get our 6 1/2 year old daughter who we would be adopting and calling Leila Conn. After nearly 5 years of paperwork between the US and China, we were finally doing it. We flew to Hong Kong then took a train to Guangzhou where we met her for the first time. During the two weeks that it took to complete the paperwork for the Adoption, the passport, and the visa for her to enter the US, the four of us were mostly in Guangzhou, 4 days in Shanghai, one day to Yang Chun where her orphanage was located, then finally 4 days in Hong Kong at the end before we returned to Los Angeles. The stills have a more complete coverage but these images have sound and move and give a taste of the adventure. I only video recorded at certain times so it’s highly selective. All 3 parts are about 14 minutes total.

Joint Heirs Adoption Ministry (JHAM) is advocating for the orphan as we are commanded by God. We feel it is our responsibility and privilege to educate and assist individuals and families in their journey through adoption by raising awareness of the orphan crisis and finding homes where children can experience the love and security of a forever family.

In upgrading to my newest version of Pinnacle STudio (from 10 to 11 Ultimate) I found I could no longer access any of the movies I had created with ver 10. Something that I think Pinnacle STudio needs to address. However, I had to re-create our Adoption video, which was extremeley difficult (I have been working on doing so since early this summer). It was difficult not because the program is hard to learn (it is quite easy to use and fairly intuitive) but because there has been so little time to mess with my computer.
Anyway, I wanted to redo the video, and I have used some of Studio 11 Ultimate’s new features. I’m really pleased with the results, and I have learned a lot more about video editing and using the program by taking some extra time to redo the video.
I use the same music, but have added different transitions, extra pictures and extra video clips. I don’t know how it will compare to the other two – but I’m now going to have to recreate a lot of other videos at home (which – not to worry – I’m not going to reload them!) but it will cut down on the time I have for creating new stuff. I’ll try to squeeze the new in here and there. But this video turned out so good (at least in my opinion) that I had to put it up on my channel.
Yeah, you could say I impressed myself. LOL! Not hard to do, though.
