How do I research a recent adoption from foster care?
Details: How do I search this information? I have only the children’s first names, photos and dates of birth and the approx time frame they were adopted- from Johnson City area, TN. OR- how do I search for birth records with limited information like this? Is there a way on-line to search for birth records if you do not have the last name? I almost adopted these wonderful kids- but did not make enough money to support all three and just want to know they are happy and safe.
You might see if you can track down their Social Worker. Though she won’t be able to give you specifics of the situation, she would probably be willing to reasure you that they are happy and with people that wanted and love them. She MAY even be willing to pass on a card or note from you if their parents okay it(though probably only once, they want the children to be able to move on with their lives). Good Luck!
It would be difficult to search since, one, you don’t have the last names. And two, most adoption records are sealed as soon as the adoption is finalized. You could try searching public records, but again last names are usually required. I cannot think of any other good advice to give you. I wish you luck though. P.S. as someone who is adopted ,it’s nice to see that there are people out there like you. If only there were more people like you out there, we wouldn’t so many kids needing homees.
