Great board!
yes, definitely but not all the time. Praises and good comments on good behavior lift more the child’s spirit than just material gain.
I was 16 at the time …. I arrived back home drunk at midnight and I wasn’t able to do anything. I was all wet ……Mom pick me up and realized that I was all wet .
She help by assisting undressing and dress back in warm clothes.
She told me that the next morning .
What were YOU thinking at the age of 16 going out and getting drunk? The parents of the house you were at should be hauled off to jail or something. Your mother is an awesome parent if she helped you out like that. I hope you got the punishment of a lifetime for that one. Though, at the same time… What was she doing letting you go to a party like that anyway? You must not have been honest with her about what you would be doing. Be careful hon or you might not be going to parties again until you’re old enough to be on your own. You’re lucky to have the mother that you have and you should be thankful every single day. You have no business at your age abusing alcohol like that. If I were your mother, I would ground you for life and then, I would ground you again. You had better be sucking up to your mama for a LONG time after your little stunt…
every single bit of it. i am not even a parent…but i know everything i am and everything i learned/retained was all because of my mom and dad

im having a baby in 1 month and i am so very happy but i need to known how to be a good mom
No one can tell you this because every body’s child is different.
But just treat them good, bathe them, feed them and let them drink those are obvious, keep a good home, don’t leave sharp objects lying around, baby proof
If they are naughty disipline them and be firm don’t say um…no? short and sharp No! I’m sure you will get better answers than mine but just try to be the best that you can be.x
I’m not asking anything on yahoo answers that has to do with parenting. It’s because a bunch of people on here instead of answering your question have to go all out and post a bunch of crap and give you this big lecture I’m really sick of it. From now on I’m only asking questions about pets.
For example of what I’m talking about go here

There are always people just trynna tell you what you should or shouldnt do which is not what you asked them squiddy, amberwavess etc so I don’t want to deal with it. What are some good Parenting forums well you can chat with other parents and DON’T have to deal with all that?
Try ivillage.com!
Any class I can learn to become a better parent. I also want to learn so I can co-parent with my daughter.
You and your daughter can take this online class together:
http://www.pricelessParenting.com/Parenting_Classes/ParentingClass.aspx
It’s seven lessons and takes about 10 hours between going through the lessons and trying out the homework.
For example, it’s important to be neutral in kid squabbles and take corrective action without seeming to be biased or unfair. It’s never a good idea to favor one kid over the others.
What about just setting a good example with your actions. My children see the relationship that my husband and I have, how we work through problems and how we love one another. That sets an example as to how they should care for relationships.
Keeping a tidy home teaches respect for your things. Making sure they bath, brush their teeth and hair teaches them to respect their bodies and have self worth; as does eating healthy and exercising.
When shopping, teach how to find sales, get the best for your money. Also giving an allowance to children who do jobs around the house teaches them how to raise money for things that they would like to purchase rather than expecting mommy and daddy to buy them everything they want. It creates good moral and good ethics.
Really, it comes down to the fact that actions speak louder than words. If you act as you wish your children to act, they will follow. If you are rude, expect one thing from your children and act a different way that you don’t want your children to act, they won’t respect you. Simple as that.
