I’m writing a book and the girl’s father is still alive but ran away when she was six months old and her mom had committed suicide. (teen pregnancy if you must know). Would she be put in foster care or an adoption center? What’s the difference? Nice mature answers only, thank you!
the child is currently 16, mother dead, father missing, lives in Georgia, no family wants the child because she’s weird and quirky. It’s unusual, yes, but that’s what makes the book interesting. Just saying. Thanks for the answers!!
)
Adoption center is where she’d stay until she gets adopted and placed in a nice home…
Foster care is where she’ll be placed until she’s 18.
Most kids by then get kicked out or if lucky kept.
I was kicked out of my placement to which i was in since i was 1 years old. I was 16 when they kicked me out; all because i liked piercings and had schooling issues.
She’ll most likely be placed in foster care. I just hope it’s a nice placement otherwise it can mess you up.
Maybe she can become emancipated. i was when i was 16. More or less she can run her own life.

Foster care is a system set up to temporarily care for children who have been apprehended (removed) from homes where they are not having their needs met, or are being abused/exploited, etc. In these cases, the goal is generally for reunification first..Supports are implemented in the home, and the biological parent(s) are given a "case plan", indicating what changes will need to be made before children are returned to them. Assuming the parents faithfully attend visits, drug/alcohol rehabilitation, Parenting classes, anger management, etc., the goal is to return the child(ren) home.
However, some of those children cannot go home. In these cases, parental rights can eventually be terminated by the courts, which means these children are in foster care with no plan to return home. At that point, the goal changes from reunification to permanency, meaning a search for 1) a biological family member to act as a long term kinship caregiver, or, 2) if efforts to find a kinship home are unsuccessfully exhausted, an adoptive home is sought. In this case, the foster parents who are currently caring for the child often adopt them, but not in every case, which leaves many, many children in care waiting for adoptive families.
There are also Private Adoptions, and agency adoptions, where infants are "voluntarily" placed with adoptive families by their parents.
Adoption is permanent, foster care is temporary. In adoption, the child becomes the child of the adoptive parents in the eyes of the law.

We’re finalizing the Adoption of our foster daughter next friday. She’s been with us for nearly 2.5 years, and we couldn’t be more pleased to finally make her a permanent part of our family. We have a small budget of $250.00. We would like to have a great celebration without breaking the bank. I’ve thought about a family dinner, but I don’t know if that is just to ordinary. Does anyone have any ideas of how we can celebrate?
How old is she? Ask her what she would like to do if she is old enough. She should be able to tell you what she would like to do. But a nice dinner sounds fine to me.

If you don’t know the exact company, where is the first place to start if you would like to obtain information regarding information from a previous Adoption/foster care agency in Chico California? Not sure where or how to start. Thanks!
