How do you pick the best adoption agency?

My husband and I will (hopefully) begin the Adoption process in September. We have been talking to AGAPE but I was wondering if there are other agencies I should consider using. And if we use one agency, can we still adopt children from other agencies? I just want to go with the best agency and would like a little feed back if anyone here has any experience in this situation. Thanks!

I would pick one that doesn’t charge for children. AGAPE makes a profit on the adoptions, and to me, that is unethical. I also find many of their practices unethical. They "recruit" pregnant women so that they can coerce children from them. Based on this alone, I wouldn’t ever go through them for anything. Many other agencies are the same way.
Foster care is inexpensive, and those children need homes.
If we stop giving our business to places like AGAPE, perhaps they will realize that they are morally bankrupt, and that everyone knows it.

  1. Just to let you know a little bit about AGAPE. One of their "recruiters" hangs out in Y!A, and on every other online forum there is, trying to coerce young girls into surrendering their babies. She’s a headhunter.

Most agencies who deal with newborn adoptions engage in this type of behavior, so please be careful. They even tell the mothers to with hold the father’s name, which is illegal. Any adoption done like this is null and void and can be overturned.

If you want to make sure your adoption is ethical, please adopt through foster care. There are babies available for adoption through foster care, too.

  2. Bawahahahahah! They have the feelers out everywhere for vulnerable women to hoik into their keep net!

Please don’t deal with predators who use unethical practises. Go with social services.

Tip. Avoid the one’s with employees with specific job titles like "Child Recruiter" blech
